We're giving our community the opportunity to crowdfund Behere's pre-seed round for our first $200,000 to secure a land-lease on our first Behere enrichment location for 2023.
Hello Behere friends and new friends!
First off, we had a lovely night with much of our earliest Behere community members and supporters on Friday, November 11! Big thank you to everyone who supported us and came to taste a sample of what the ‘future of education and the future of work’ can taste like : ) School of Lunch did a top-notch job cooking amazing, nutritious food!
We are grateful to have gotten the support we did on Friday Night, and it continues to get clearer and clearer that a lot of people see the value in building children’s enrichment and adult co-working around an ultra-nutritious wellness lunch!
We have plenty of big ideas at Behere — and we know for sure that more and more families are going to be looking for support with alternative models of educating. It’s great to see people’s eyes light up and just ‘get it’ ! 🙏❤️. We are feeling gratitude for the community coming together to help fund this event and show enthusiasm for what we are doing.
On Sunday morning, we decided we would focus our efforts further. We realized the top priority was for us to secure our land lease for Jan 2023 as soon as possible, so we can build out and promote our 2023 offering. We have some traction and momentum, and we need to lease our first Behere community enrichment location ASAP, to support the kind of growth we believe we can achieve.
We don’t need $2.2M for that initially, so we are breaking the fundraise into phases. The initial target of phase 1 is $200,000, and this is where we are asking for help from our extended community. This will provide our earliest investors much more equity for their dollar, at a very community-friendly valuation cap. Early birds who produce the first $50,000 will invest at the best terms ($1.9M valuation cap!) You are unlikely to find these kinds of terms for a startup that has as much community traction as Behere does. Not financial advise! Only invest what you can afford to lose. Our current plan is to continue our search for the right Angel or VC who wants to invest $2M+ in our vision for the future of education and the future of work and accelerate Behere. Brooke and I will continue to do everything we can with what we have, but the truth is that our runway is very short, and it adds a lot of stress to our lives. Securing 6 months of operational runway to allow us to maintain our awake hours and focus on building Behere, so that we can expand our workshops, build a bigger guide base, and support more families. Finding financial support is critical to furthering the Behere mission to support families looking for new ways to work and learn.
We are building a truly community-focussed business, and we are looking for the people have the desire and the means to support such a vision.
